HAA collaborated with Cox Architecture to develop separate master plans for St John’s and St Paul’s Colleges at The University of Sydney. Both colleges had very important decisions to make about future changes that will shape their environment and culture.
St Paul’s had sought advice on the location of extensive new student housing, and how this could be best achieved without impacting their existing historic buildings and landscape. HAA’s extensive understanding of the college proved invaluable in ensuring that the locations respected the existing visual relationships and character.
The Council at St John’s College desired new or improved facilities for their students and requested a masterplan to assist in the decision making process. One of the outcomes was the recommendation to reinvigorate the existing library space within the original building rather than designing a completely new structure. https://haarchitects.com.au/project/the-nagle-library-at-st-johns-college/
