Before and after: conserving a major tomb in Camperdown Cemetery

A large, historic vault belonging to William and Mary Brown in Camperdown Cemetery has been conserved with the help of HAA’s consultation.

HAA provided advice on how to approach the project, including which technologies to use. Kelly and Holland Stonemasons carried out the works. Funds were provided by a government grant and the generosity of the Browns’ descendants.

The tomb was reassembled, treated, and received a new footing – fully equipping it for many years to come as a feature of the cemetery.
