This week the National Trust (NSW) announced the shortlists for their 2021 Heritage Awards. We are delighted that The Lowy Institute is on the shortlist for the Conservation: Built Heritage category.
As mentioned previously, the Lowy Institute is located in the Sydney CBD in the old New South Wales Club building. By restoring lost architectural features and using sophisticated lighting and acoustic techniques, the former gloomy rooms are now well-lit and comfortable spaces for the Lowy team.
The installation of a discreetly placed lift at the front door ensures equitable access for everyone.
