    Hector has worked with buildings, places and cultural landscapes of all sizes and significance in Australia and overseas. This experience has made him passionate about stewardship – an old idea which resonates with today’s understanding of our role in the world.

  • Astrid Eggins

    Astrid Eggins

    A people person with a love of organisation, process and structure with a bit of contractual law thrown in means Astrid ensures all aspects of HAA’s administration runs smoothly.

    Astrid is a key person in the HAA-client relationship. She loves walking with the client through the entire journey while acting as translator of ‘archi-speak’ for those baffled by the regulatory processes and architectural terminology.

  • Yuan Lu Nee

    MA (Arch), B Env Design

    Having been with HAA since 2015, Yuan is now an associate and project manager for the practice. Oversight of multiple projects in all phases, from design feasibility through to construction, gives her a “having done it” foundation to project management. She knows the importance of client, stakeholder and consultant relationships, prioritising listening and responding to needs, goals and objectives.

    Yuan’s knowledge and understanding of heritage buildings is extensive. Her recent complex projects include the renewal of two urban heritage listed buildings, Reid House in the Sydney CBD and St John’s College at The University of Sydney.

  • Brianna Jessup

    BDes Arch, MArch

    In responding to a client’s brief, Brianna relishes developing options through the design process. She also derives great satisfaction in solving problems that might occur during the construction phase.

    Brianna enjoys applying conservation techniques and uncovering the cause of issues in old buildings. She has considerable experience working with faith communities to improve the integration of their buildings with their worship practice.

  • Sioned Lavery

    BA(Hons), MHeritCons

    Evaluating the impact of development on heritage items and conservation areas, Sioned writes clear and thorough heritage reports including conservation management plans and heritage assessments.

    Sioned loves understanding the history and significance of a place, then piecing together the historical puzzle. She is interested in bringing heritage places to life and enjoys working with clients who are interested in and want to achieve the best heritage outcome.

  • Olivia De Beus

    BArch, MArch, MHeritCons

    With a strength in detailed design, informed by European sensibilities, Olivia understands the needs of both clients and their older buildings, seeking to adapt them for future users.

    Olivia loves fine-grained detail, evident in her colour palettes for buildings and rooms of all sizes, as well as her furniture design. She enjoys exploring the social functioning of a structure whether it is big or small scale. She is also interested in the relationship between the built and unbuilt.

  • Sam Treharne

    BDes Arch, BEng (Civil)(Hons)

    Sam has broad experience within the building industry, having worked as a project manager, structural engineer, architectural draftsman and a planning policy advisor for the NSW Government.

    Recognising that architectural and urban design has wide-ranging impacts on society and the natural environment, Sam values the great wisdoms found in traditional building practices and he seeks to contribute to the preservation and continuation of these design traditions to create beautiful places loved by communities.

  • Stephanie Thelin

    Having completed her internship in 2023, Stephanie continues at HAA. She enjoys working within diverse cultural contexts, especially detailed design which considers the miraculously small to large scale interactions that this entails. She is committed to finding sustainable approaches to the conservation of heritage buildings and loves exploring the layers of history within sites.

    Working alongside our architects, Stephanie provides valuable assistance with site analysis, polished drafting, administration and collaboration in design.

  • Sherly Robert

    BArch, MUrbanism(HeritCons) (underway)

    With prior work experience in South India, Sherly is interested in the differences in approach to conservation between South Asia and Australia. She is fascinated by historical research, material conservation, and the stories behind heritage buildings and landscapes. Sherly’s work at HAA includes the writing of heritage impact statements, conservation management plans and advice on consent pathways. Stained glass, urban poetry and stone traceried windows are a few of her favourite things.

  • Olivia Salkeld

    BArch

    Having recently completed her undergraduate architectural degree at UTS, Olivia has joined HAA as part of our internship program. She is attracted to heritage restoration and adaptive reuse, eager to further develop the skills demonstrated in her university projects. She is keen to integrate conceptual phases of design with the various aspects of her work.

    Olivia is skilled at building creating physical architectural models and architectural photography and looks forward to using these skills while at HAA.

    Roger works quietly in the background at HAA, keeping a keen and close eye on our finances. Having previously worked in a broad range of finance roles for 17 years in the medico-legal industry, he has an eye for detail, providing us with accurate information. Roger enjoys being a team player and communicating effectively with all stakeholders in any situation.
