North Head Sanctuary

HAA was a member of the COX Architecture team engaged produce a masterplan for the rehabilitation and activation of the North Head Sanctuary, a site of National Heritage significance managed by the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust. 

Providing strategic heritage advice, HAA offered insights on the cultural heritage values of the place, including First Nations values, ecological values, and military heritage values. The masterplan process included two rounds of review by the general public and special groups such as first nations and military stakeholders. Informed by these values and responses, the masterplan aims to activate the place through adaptive reuse, new cultural and military interpretation centres, and the revitalisation of ecology.
